Elin Haver
Elin Haver, born in 2003 in Amsterdam, began her musical journey at the age of four under the guidance of Wiesje Miedema.
At the age of 12, she got admitted to the Sweelinck Academy for Young Talent at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. It was during this time that she discovered the viola, an instrument she immediately fell in love with.
In 2019, Elin achieved notable recognition by winning second prize at the Britten Viola Competition. Shortly thereafter, she was awarded the Gerda Schunck-Cremersbeurs, a scholarship from a fund associated with the Royal Concertgebouworkest. The following year, she played in the regional finals of the Prinses Christina Concours, winning first prize, and received an Honorable Mention along with the Audience Prize in the National Finals. Elin graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2025 from the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she studied under Francien Schatborn. She has started her master’s studies with Lilli Maijala and Francien Schatborn in the same year.
Elin has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Nobuko Imai, Timothy Ridout, Pierre Colombet, Pieter Wispelwey, Lukas Hagen, Gerhard Schulz and Luc-Marie Aguera and has played with the Dudok Quartet, Liza and Dmitri Ferschtman and Nobuko Imai, among others.
She has participated in renowned festivals such as the Grachtenfestival, Schiermonnikoogfestival and Rhinegold Festival. In summer 2025, Elin participated in the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) Summer Tour, where she played under the batons of Vasily Petrenko and Iván Fischer. She’s also a substitute violist in the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest (RFO). From July 2026, Elin is an alumni of the Pacific Music Festival Academy in Sapporo, Japan.
In addition to playing the viola, Elin has taken on the role of artistic leader and conductor for several orchestras and choirs in Amsterdam. Her greatest passion is bringing people together through the power of music.
