Otilka Quartet

The Otilka Quartet is an international ensemble of four curious musicians and it was born from a shared passion for classical music and the intention to push the boundaries of the traditional string quartet. In addition to performing the standard repertoire, the quartet experiments with works by lesser-known composers.

Founded in September 2020 at the prestigious Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the quartet has quickly established itself as a promising ensemble in the world of chamber music.

Over the past few years, the Otilka Quartet has performed numerous concerts, some of which have been recorded by Podium Klassiek, NPO Klassiek, or the Concertzender. You can find various audio and video recordings under Archive and on the Media page.

In February 2024, the Otilka Quartet participated in the IX International Music Competition Triomphe de l’Art in Brussels and won the second prize.

2025 is already a promising year for Otilka: they opened Quatuor Ébène‘s concert in the Muziekgebouw aan’ t IJ, they worked with Dudok Quartet, Ruysdael Quartet, Quatuor Danel, Alan George (former member of the renowned Fitzwilliam Quartet) and are scheduled to work with Olli Mustonen on his first string quartet.

They played in the most prestigious halls in the Netherlands and are scheduled to perform in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and in Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht.

From 2025 they are postgraduate students at the Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Akademie and will participate in important festivals such as the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam and Janine Jansen’s International Kamermuziek Festival in Utrecht.
